One thing is for sure is that the crime rate does not drop and, in fact, it is expected to worsen. A type of crime that has actually been on the increase of crimes against property and a new type of crime against property is to make its debut flight home invasion. Prisons are overcrowded and the police are overwhelmed, while in communities increasingly, it is up to each home owner to take steps to protect their home, family and property. Hopefully something that has also been increasing with the crime rate is the level of technology in security systems at home. What began as a simple system of window and door trip triggers that have been linked to an alarm raised in the complex security systems that can cover your whole house in a blanket of invisible security that is being monitored by twenty-four hours day. In fact security at home has left the house and yard with a radius of thirty-five feet of protection, which is controlled by the state of the art heat and ultra-sensitive motion sensors that will trigger the system if someone enters the protected area. While home security systems still rely heavily on the windows and door release mechanisms, which prevent anyone from entering with triggering the alarm, they make intensive use of newer technology that is available in the way infrared and motion detectors. In addition, new wireless technology makes all the devices that are incorporated into a modern alarm system more tamper-proof as they have ever been. In fact, with a wireless system there is no son who can be cut and the batteries that power the various devices to last up to three years and will be the key signal-pad when they should be replaced. Alarm systems also come with a backup power source in the way of batteries that can power the security system for weeks if necessary, because of the power being cut. One thing that security system is designed to do is give the owner peace of mind and to help with this one features added to an alarm system is that the owner can actually call the control panel any time to check on the system and the house. There are other features that are available with a modern and sophisticated security system at home as well and this includes things such as fire detection sensors that can detect abnormally hot temperatures in a house and call Firefighters and awaken the owners simultaneously. For homes in colder climates, it is possible to freeze warning sensors, which tells the system to notify the monitoring station if your house has dangerously low temperatures which can cause pipes to burst. In addition, you may have added carbon monoxide sensors in your system and will sound an alarm if this toxic gas flows into your home on your hot-gas or any other source.
